Thai businesses invest VND 2,000 billion in Duong River Surface Water Plant

WHA Utilities & Power (WHAUP) (Thailand) has just purchased 34 million shares to become the second largest shareholder at Duong River Surface Water Company.

These shares are equivalent to 34% of the shares, with a total value of more than VND 2,073 billion at Duong River Surface Water Plant. Here, Aqua One Company, led by Ms. Do Thi Kim Lien, is the Chairwoman of the Board of Directors with a 51% stake being the largest shareholder. The other two shareholders are Hanoi Water Supply One Member Limited Company (holding 10%) and One Member Limited Liability Company Applying new technology and tourism (holding 5%).

Last September, Aqua One and WHAUP signed a strategic cooperation agreement on the development of the Duong river surface water plant in the next five years.

Currently, the Duong river surface water project is supplying water to the areas of Long Bien district, Gia Lam district, part of Dong Anh, Hai Ba Trung, and Hoang Mai; Phu Xuyen satellite urban center and adjacent rural areas. The project is in phase 1, with a total investment of 5,000 billion VND with a capacity of 54.75 million cubic meters of clean water per year.

WHAUP is a member of the WHA Group, Thailand’s leading logistics and industrial utility solutions. Ms. Jareeporn Jarukornsakul is currently the Chairman and CEO, owning 10.3% of the capital and 25% of the ownership through WHA Holding Co., LTD.
